Our story

Hi! I’m Caroline, and in 2017 I moved to Kampala where I met Bridget working for the same social impact enterprise . We both cherished the opportunity to improve the lives of the communities around us. However one day over lunch, Bridget let slipped she’d always dreamed of opening a library.

Little did she know I’d always had the same dream. Months after that initial comment I reached out and we finally took the leap! We made plans and started fundraising for our first library.

We grew up on different sides of the world with the same love of stories. We came from families and schools with access to books and both feel incredibly grateful we were given the opportunity to fall in love with reading.  It’s a simple pleasure that shouldn’t be exclusionary. It’s life changing. The research shows it.

Thank you for joining us on our mission to get children reading and dreaming. We can’t wait to help more children #readthepossible

Bridget’s favourite childhood book: ‘Cinderella’

Caroline’s favourite childhood book: ‘Ruff’ by Jane Hissey. (My Dad gave each animal the best voices)
